Dating to 1962, Babcock and Saunders Halls, comprise half of the four Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Halls. This project will reconfigure the halls’ currently multi-use restrooms into single-use restrooms. This reconfiguration will allow flexibility in terms of genders assigned to each floor, while also providing increased privacy and comfort, and addressing ADA accessibility requirements. To add character to this project, we presented the Owner with several design and color options - ultimately deciding on altenating between the school's colors of orange and blue for each floor.
To ensure minimal interruption to student comfort, construction was completed entirely during the summer break of 2015. Domokur Architects was recently selected to continue with Phase 2 of this project.
