The Litchfield Fire Department had long ago outgrown their original Fire Station located on the traffic circle in the heart of their community. Lacking the land area needed to accommodate and support a new facility at that location, the Township Trustees purchased a site on State Route 18, west of the circle, large enough for a new station and future central service facility.
The completed facility provides five bays for present and future fire and EMS apparatus and support equipment. The east wing houses departmental offices, communications operations, a large training room with warming kitchen, rest rooms, and various storage and support spaces. The meeting room is available to serve other community activities without impeding the Department’s emergency services.
